CoMeet Recyclate – developed responsibly

What does responsible product development mean? Responsible product development considers the entire life cycle of a product. From the initial idea, development, manufacturing and marketing right through to reusability and recycling. The entire process is part of a well-thought-out circular economy that is continuously monitored, adapted and sustainably developed. That’s how we do things at Klöber.

“Each of our products follows the philosophy of optimally combining sustainability and innovation,” says Thomas Möller, CEO at Klöber GmbH. “At Klöber, we go above and beyond to achieve the optimum balance between design, environmental awareness, quality and materials. The clear-cut, minimalist styling of this seating range guarantees timeless design and lasting quality. Aesthetics and functionality are equally convincing, so that the furniture is always stylish and ergonomic.”

“We design our products meticulously and with an expertise backed up with years of experience,” adds Jörg Bernauer, Designer at Klöber GmbH. “We know which materials to use depending on requirements, and at the same time we’re constantly on the look-out for new options. Since 95% of the emissions generated are due to raw material extraction and the upstream production process, it is essential that the right materials are selected.”

CoMeet Recyclate – sustainably beautiful

Klöber uses recycled materials to minimise the consumption of new raw materials and conserve resources. Opting for energy-efficient and environmentally friendly materials reduces CO2 pollution right from the development phase. Ongoing process optimisation ensures that the seating manufacturer contributes to sustainability and protects the environment.

Klöber's latest innovation is CoMeet Recyclate. The chair is made of 100% post-consumer material. The material for the seat and backrest is certified in accordance with European Certification of Plastic Recyclers (EuCertPlast), undergoing thorough monitoring and evaluation to ensure the stringent requirements are met.

“Post-consumer PP has a high sustainability value, represents a key element of the circular economy and ensures significant reductions in  CO2 emissions,” explains Dirk Hindenberg, Marketing Director at Klöber GmbH. “Recycled PP is shredded and processed into a fine granulate. The clean shape of the CoMeet Recyclate seat shell and backrest is manufactured with this granulate, using a complex injection moulding process. For me, this chair is proof that a new material can be made from a disposable product, and that ultimately it’s possible to design a new product that’s sustainable as well as attractive.”

CoMeet Recyclate is available in the exclusive colour option Simply Taupe. The model will be on show at the Orgatec trade fair from 22.10 – 25.10.2024 in Cologne. The Klöber stand is in Hall 6.1, D010 E013. We look forward to seeing you there.
